Top 3 Thursday

Top 3 Things I'm Thankful For This Week
  1. My husband notices.
New clothes, new shoes, new hair, new anything.. he notices.

    2. Our house, that is slowly (but surely) becoming our home.
It might be a double-wide, but I'll be damned.. It's ours.
3. Good friends (who value good friendships).
For the first time in my life I think I have a real best friend.

Busy: Part II

So JB and I went at lunch today to pick out our flooring.. and a whole $3200 later we have decided (and cannot WAIT for Anthony to begin installation). First, though, we have to finish all the minor repairs (like holes in the walls), then priming (which we started), and then painting. We have a looooooooooong (and I mean LONG) way to go, but we're hoping to get most of it done this weekend, so maybe they can start with the floors next week.

Before they can turn the power on we have to get permits, and we needed a septic tank before that. As of the weekend we officially have running water, AND a septic tank! Woohoo! I am so excited. Not only am I excited (and proud) but I actually HELPED DO IT ALL! This whole process is turning out to be a growing experience, and it's really something that JB and I will be proud of once it's done.

Another exciting event today, I completed my FAFSA. I'm planning on going back to school, and now I am one step closer. I should hear something back from ECT soon, and from the financial aid department by next week.

Until tomorrow!

Not me! Tuesday

Well, it definitely was not me who forgot about Not me! Monday... so I will not break the rules and post two blogs today.

My manager is back in town and there's a new rule: No cell phones in the office. So, of course, I did not get on Facebook, because I knew that my husband would get his messages on his phone instantly.

It was also not me who had a ton of clever things to say for Not me! Monday... but instead forgot to post and is now drawing a blank.

Until next week... ciao!

Busy

So this weekend we are planning on finishing ripping up the carpet and beginning to caulk, prime, and paint the rooms in our new house! During lunch today I drove over to Carson True Value in Pearson to visit my hubby for lunch time and pick out paint colors, and ooh-wee I am excited!

Ansleigh's room is going to be the color Maui Sunset... and it is kind of peachy-orange (like the walls in the first picture below). Her bed is a white bunk bed, with a desk on one end and shelves on the other. I found a comforter (the second picture below) and I LOVE it with the Maui Sunset color.

Aidan's room is going to have three khaki walls and one blue wall... we're planning on decorating with a sports theme-- and I found an idea on potterybarn.com:

Although his crib is white (and he's not big enough for a big boy bed just yet) this is just a rough idea.. but I like it! I guess it'll all come together when we get it painted!

I'm super excited, and I'm gonna take before/after pictures this weekend to upload (maybe tomorrow) or Monday morning.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!

Aidan's 1st Haircut!

So, our little Aidan boo got his hair cut today (finally). He's been pretending to be Donald Trump for quite some time now, and if we didn't get it cut today I was afraid he'd start running into walls. When I first told him he was getting a hair cut this morning, though, he wasn't too happy:

But he got over it. He had to. We were embarking on a journey... a journey to see if he had a forehead, that is! Anyways.. we got to Extreme Impressions, and he was a totally different child. He had never seen so many shampoo bottles or funky equipment before! Still unsure, he gave me one last model pose with long hair:

After Trey said, "Alright buddy, you ready for your hair cut?" it was smooth sailing! He put Aidan in his lap and we gave him a book to read and everything was fine & dandy! He looked like he'd been getting haircuts for years!

Now our Aidan looks like a new man (and a big boy!) and mama can stop panicking because he made it through it and still has both his ears! :)

Our house is here!

Well... half of it, anyway! The house movers brought the back half of our double-wide from Tifton to Nicholls today. I'm still waiting at work, and I'm so excited to see it! Joey said that someone (an angel) discarded most of the trash that was left over from its previous owners. Hallelujah! That just means LESS work for us (on the cleaning part) and we can get to work on remodeling! I'm definitely going to be posting some BEFORE/AFTER pictures of the inside too, so we can have a Blogger renovation project!

Oh.. and ENJOY the sunset from our NEW BACKYARD! :)

Not me! Monday

So today begins another week, and I am not looking forward to it. ;)

On my way to work this morning I drove carefully and paid close attention to the road, because I was not playing peek-a-boo with Aidan in the backseat. Not me!

When I dropped Aidan off at daycare I did not stick around to watch him play after I handed him off, because I knew that if I did I would be late to work... and since my manager is out of town on vacation this week I did not think that it would be okay to be a few minutes late. Not me!

Also, since my manager is out of town, I am definitely working diligently and not catching up on my blog, playing on Facebook, paying bills, working on a budget, and all those others things you should not be doing while you are at work. I'm definitely not doing any of that. Not me!

Our house is being moved tomorrow, and then the redecorating begins. I'm sure glad that it's not me that has to rip up carpet, throw away all the junk left inside from its previous owners, and pick out paint colors, flooring and light fixtures. That would be a lot of hard work. Not for me!

When I go to lunch today I am not going to do a little shopping, because I'd much rather take Aidan with me. I do not like when I have time to myself to try on clothes, and I would much rather have to worry about my child eating stuff off the floor. Then, after work, I am not going to go home and relax, because where is the fun in that?

After all, this is Not Me! Monday.
