Meet the As

Ansleigh, Alivia, and Aidan (circa 2011)
Ansleigh (far left) is our nine-year-old angel. Really.

When Joey and I met, Ansleigh was three years old. She was quiet, but the first time I met her we immediately had a bond. Joey said (and so did most of his family) that they had never seen her take to someone so quickly. I was young, scared, and pregnant at the time, so it kind of calmed my nerves to hear that from strangers. Ansleigh helped shape the mother that I am today - which is why in my heart she will always be my first child. She is as responsible as an nine-year-old can be, a fabulous big sister and amazing little girl. She's smart, observant, and ridiculously entertaining. To me, she reminds me a lot of her daddy. Ans has always been a big helper, and she is a fabulous role model for the younger As.

Now, I had already named Aidan before Joey and I met. His name means "fiery," and he lives up to it more and more every day. Now, he is our four-year-old version of hell on wheels. He is mama's baby (and daddy's buddy) and will tell you that if you ask. He loves riding his bicycle and playing on his iPod, but especially loves his sisters. He is ALWAYS into SOMETHING - his sisters' rooms, my makeup in the bathroom.. something. (He's a sneaky little rascal but I love him just the same.) You can just about guarantee that he's going to ruin his clothes every day - dirt seems to be attracted to him.

Alivia is our baby girl, and at three years old she has a personality 100 times her size. At a whopping 32 pounds, Liv (who prefers to be called "Princess") is rotten to the core. The worst part? She knows it. She loves to eat, and eats twice as much as Ans & Aid. I think she got Joey's sense of humor and my personality.... and we're in trouble because of that.

I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoy writing about them!
